To the book lover that I inadvertently called a whore to her face … I am truly sorry!
The Incident:
At a recent book signing event a smiling woman stopped by my table and proudly admitted, “I am a book hoarder!”
After a few minutes of banter about what my novels were about, she was still undecided if she should buy anything.
To convince her, without thinking I said, “Well … you already told me that you’re a book whore.”
Thankfully, she must have heard me wrong, as she just laughed at my remark and then bought one of the mysteries!
